It is in Garhwal and is easily accessible by road from Haridwar and Dehradun, about 270 km (168 mi) south of Joshimath. From Delhi, one can take the train to Haridwar and then take a bus through Rishikesh to get to Govindghat. Govindghat is about 24 km away from another important place in Badrinath. From Delhi to Govindghat, which is about 500 km away and you can easily reach by road.
