The Madmaheshwar journey, also known as the Madhyamaheshwar Trek or the Buda Madmaheshwar Trek, is unlike any other journey that leads to a mountain or meadow. The site is rife with mythology, and the story is connected to the time of one of Hinduism’s major epic, the Mahabharata. Bhima, one of the Pandavas’ second son, constructed the Madhyamaheshwar temple as a penance for their sin of killing Brahmans and Kauravas during the Kurukshetra War. The temple is devoted to Lord Shiva, who is revered as a Lingam with a navel shape. The northern Himalayan region’s Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary is home to the Madmaheshwar Trek. The Himalayan Musk Deer, an endangered species, is the sanctuary’s main attraction.

Three-day trek would be enough to explore the place. 32-kilometer hike passes through charming villages, grasslands, and coniferous forests. On the first day, the Madhyamaheshwar Ganga river flows beneath you.
The cherry on top that makes your whole work worthwhile is the view of the first light of dawn on the Chaukhamba massif from Buda Madmaheshwar. This is the main justification for visiting the Madmaheshwar trek. It has been believed, only reasonably fit beginners should attempt this trek as their first. It demands a good level of fitness. For first-time hikers, the second day’s 5,000 feet of rise combined with the three days’ total distance of about 32 kilometers is extremely taxing.

TIME TO VISIT
Visitation hours at the temple are from 6 AM to 9 PM. November to April is when the temple is still shuttered (tentatively). Usually, the deadline announcement occurs on the day of Dussehra. Before you go for your trip during the monsoon, find out on the weather and road conditions from the local government, tour companies, or tour guides. If one is having trouble hiking or carrying their bags, mules and porters are also available for hire, particularly during the busiest times of the year.
