History:
The particular place was discovered in the 8th century with the establishment of a ‘Matha’ by the ‘Adiguru Shri Shankaracharya’ at Joshimath which is present in the hill station till today. Soon, it became the gateway of the Himalayas and several people especially nomadic tribes, started living here. Trade and commerce began with the pretty establishment of their own culture which is popular till today. .
